I was born and brought up in Youlgrave and was educated at Lady Manners School. I now live in Belper with my wife Jane, having seen both our daughters grow up and leave home to pursue their careers.
I spent over twenty years in retail before joining the support staff at Lady Manners School in 2000 when I became a member of the Premises Department. I believe this career has helped me to become confident in identifying and managing individual needs. Within the school I have progressed to become the Premises Manager, a position I thoroughly enjoy. One huge benefit of this role is that I feel I am in an excellent position to meet with all staff around the site from all departments, both curriculum and support. I help to improve their working environment and promote a positive, safe and friendly environment in which the students and staff work. I enjoy the daily challenges this role provides.
My interests include gardening, going to the theatre, reading and, when time allows, travelling.
