Our Design and Technology Department have been busy using the technology at school to support the effort to produce PPE for the nation's front line workers.
The Department are working with local company, 45 Degrees Design & Print to increase local production of the face masks so essential to NHS and care staff. Raw materials are donated by the public, who buy them from Amazon (details and specifications are available at 45 Degrees Design & Print).
Our D&T staff are using the school's laser cutter for as many hours as possible to produce reusable polypropylene headbands. These have been specially designed to alleviate the problem that users are finding with some goggles that fall off too easily.
The face masks are being provided to a range of care homes, hospices, doctors' surgeries, hostels and hospitals.
