We are currently seeking the following, to join our team:

Science Technician (closing date: 10 June 2019)
  • Grade 6 £19,169 to £19,606 per annum pro rata
  • 34 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Working under the direction of the Senior Science Technician, you will provide support for the teaching of science subjects. Duties will include preparing resources for practical lessons, maintaining science teaching spaces and adhering to health and safety guidelines.

You should have experience of working in a scientific or technical area, knowledge of health and safety including risk assessments, and an ability to work as part of a team. A level 3 science-related qualification and knowledge of the Key Stage 3, 4 and A-Level science curriculum would be advantageous.

We would be willing to accept applications from those wishing to job-share. Actual salary based on 34 hours is £14,699 - £15,034 per annum.

Receptionist (closing date: 10 June 2019)
  • Grade 4 £18,064 per annum pro rata
  • 20 hours per week, 41 weeks per year
  • 12.45 pm to 4.45 pm Monday to Friday

You will provide a welcoming and professional reception service. Duties will include operating the switchboard, dealing with face to face and telephone enquiries, organising internal and external post and assisting with administrative tasks.

You should have experience of working in an office and customer-focused environments and be able to use Microsoft Office packages. An ability to work calmly under pressure and with tact and discretion is essential. Actual salary is £8,790 per annum. Required from 2 September 2019.

Duke of Edinburgh Manager (closing date: 24 June 2019)
  • Grade 7 £20,190 to £22,019 per annum pro rata
  • Actual salary £2,728.53 to £2,975.70
  • The salary is based on 5 hours per week over 52 weeks per year, however the actual hours worked will need to be variable to meet the demands of the Duke of Edinburgh programme

The Duke of Edinburgh award scheme at Lady Manners School is very popular; this year we have 42 students undertaking bronze, 25 silver and 10 gold, and it is a core part of our extra-curricular activities. As the Manager, you will be responsible for enrolling and inducting students onto the programme, providing training, and coordinating our team of volunteers. Ideally the Manager will also run the expeditions at all levels although alternative models of delivery can be explored.

You should have experience of working with young people and participating in outdoor activities, knowledge of the Duke of Edinburgh Award at all levels and administrative and organisational skills. A relevant qualification, for example Mountain Leader would be advantageous.

  • Temporary to cover maternity leave. Required from 2 September 2019.
  • Grade 4 £18,064 per annum pro rata
  • 35 hours per week, 39.2 weeks per year
  • 8.00 am to 3.30 pm Monday to Friday

This key role within the catering team involves preparing and baking cakes, biscuits and puddings and working as part of a team during service times. An ability to work flexibly to meet deadlines, excellent customer care skills and knowledge of food hygiene are essential. Actual salary is £14,708.29.

  • 25 hours per week, 38.2 weeks per year
  • 10.00 am to 3.30 pm Monday to Friday

The main focus of the role is to work in the school’s highly successful catering department to provide a comprehensive service to students and staff. You should have experience of working in a catering environment and knowledge of food production techniques and health and safety. Actual salary is £10,036.11.

Casual Staff

Relief Support Services Assistant

Duties include clearing, preparing and serving food and supervising students. Experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous although full training will be provided. The rate of pay will be £9.18 per hour plus £1.33 per hour in lieu of annual leave/bank holidays.

Invigilator

Duties include assisting with the preparation of the examination room, supervising students during the examination and ensuring examinations run in accordance with rules and regulations. The rate of pay will be £9.36 per hour plus £1.36 per hour in lieu of annual leave/bank holidays.
